Alan H. Hake, age 64, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on March 16, 2012 at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. Born June 24, 1947 in Mechanicsburg, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Helen B. (Stambaugh) Hake.
Alan had retired from Verizon where he had worked as an equipment technician and was currently working part-time with the Harrisburg Auto Auction. He was a member of the Lower Allen VFW Post 7530 and was a former member of the Central Penn Corvette Club. In his free time, he enjoyed driving his ’68 Corvette, riding his motorcycle and doing work in his garden on his John Deere tractor. Alan was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and trips to the family’s camp. Most of all, however, he loved spending his retirement with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 23 years, Marlene Marie (Acri) Hake; his son, Steven Eric Hake and wife Amy of Mechanicsburg; his daughter, Lisa Marie Hake of Mechanicsburg; his step-daughter, Stephanie Lynn McMullen and husband Michael of Mechanicsburg; his step-daughter, Stacy Lynn Powers of Philadelphia; his grandson, Brendan Michael McMullen; and his siblings, Galen Hake and wife Elizabeth, Barbara Wills, and Marian “Trece” Britcher and husband John, all of Mechanicsburg. Alan was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Hake.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Tuesday, March 20 at Malpezzi Funeral Home where there will be a visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Burial will take place in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
