David Robert Schmick, 45 of New Cumberland passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Harrisburg Hospital. Born March 3, 1967 in Harrisburg he was the son of the late Robert W. Schmick and Evelyn (Michael) Schmick of Mechanicsburg. In addition to his mother, David is survived by his loving wife Lynn Marie (Pinti) Schmick, a sister Denise M. Garber and husband Barry, two nieces Hannah and Emily Garber all of Carlisle as well as several aunts, uncles and loving family members.
David was a former employee of R C Cook Company located in Harrisburg. He was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church and attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church both of Mechanicsburg. David was an avid sports fan closely following the LA Dodgers and the Harrisburg Senators. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces, and tending to his rescued pets, Dudee, Falcore and Goldie.
David was a loving, caring and generous person. He was always concerned about the well being of others and continuously trying to help those in need, including animals. David’s most generous and thoughtful gift was becoming a corneal donor and helping someone in need with the ultimate gift of sight. David will be terribly missed by all but he will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Malpezzi Funeral Home with visitation held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
