Fern M. Long, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in her home at Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg. Mrs. Long was born on September 20, 1925 in Philadelphia, to the late Lawrence S. and Elsie M. (Goeltz) Terrey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel J. Long, with whom she celebrated 60 years of Marriage in 2006.
Surviving are her sister, Jean M. Maenza of Reading, and four children, Susanne M. Robinson of Harrisburg, Joanne L. Kress of Germantown, MD, Robin R. Long of Winston-Salem, NC, and Randall T. Long of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Mrs. Long was a member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg where her funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9th at 11:00 AM with The Rev. Richard G. Lorenz officiating. Viewing will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the church. Burial will follow the services in Trindle Spring Cemetery. A luncheon for family and friends, sponsored by the Women of Trindle Springs Church, will follow immediately after the burial.
