John W. Jones

John W. Jones, age 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Forest Park Health Center in Carlisle. Born August 27, 1924 in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late John J. and Sarah (Tramer) Jones.
John was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, served in the National Guard Reserves and was a retired Warrant Officer III in the Army Reserves. He was retired from the former Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg where he had worked as the Director of Training and later retired from GPU at Three Mile Island where he had served as the Instructor of Management Training and Career Development.
No matter the time, place, or job, John loved to teach and always carried the hope that the knowledge he imparted would be put to use.
Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Carol Ann (Yahner) Jones; two daughters, Paul and Heidi Jones; three step-sons, David, Dennis, and Douglas Bradley; two step-grandchilren, Branden and Erin Bradley; and his step great-granddaughter, Teagan Bradley. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert, and by his sister, Dorothy Casey.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 15 at Mechanicsburg Cemetery with Rev. Bob Malick and Rev. Richard Shover officiating.
